Our Learning Landscape Explained 

 

Carpet Kingdom-  Carpet Kingdom is where all children sit for whole class activities, register time and many other learning opportunities.


The Globe- The globe is our 'small world area' where children use smaller versions of animals, vehicles and people. It also has construction opportunities to enable children to create houses and bridges etc...

The Lair-   This area is a table area where teacher led learning opportunites often take place

 

Tech Deck- Tech deck is our large interactive tv where games can often be played. Some weeks the children also have access to ipads and chrome books.

 

Message Centre- This is an area that would be traditionally called the writing area.  The children use this area as a base to mark make, write and fevelop a love of writing.

We also have mobile message centre opportunities so mark making is everywhere.

 

Challenge City- We often put challenging activities to promote thinking and consolidate either maths or english focus activities. This is also an area designed more eith Year 1 children in mind.

Creation Station- Creation station is basically our making area. children can create and construct using junk material exploring.

 

Splat Shack-  This area is for painting and colouring and drawing with a vriety of differst types of paint and media to paint on.

 

Messy Mound- This changes regulary and can range from shaving cream to baked beans - basically anything messy that can help promote a sensory experience promote language and offer fine manipultaive opportunities.

 

Hexagon Hangout- This is used in a number of ways and is an adaptable table that relects the needs of the classroom. some times used for games, small group activities or investigation opportunities.

 

Goblin Factory- This is our play dough area where children can sculpt mould and create.

 

Treasure Island-   Treasure island is our name for our sand and water area.

Fantasy Forest - This is a deconstructed role play area, that can be whatever the children can imagine.

 

Dream Machine- This is currently our home corner and reflects aspects of real life.

 

Book Nook- Does what it says on the tin , however roleplay and  writing opportunities are often encourage here too.

Legoland- An area for construction, language and creativity.

 

Concrete Corner-  This is our outdoor area of the classroom that lets us provide a small freeflow environment to outside.
